SF HOUSE.jpg
This project is the interior renovation of Richard Neutra’s most famous San Francisco house.  The house, completed in 1940 for the financier Sidney Kahn, is perched over the east cliff of Telegraph Hill and has three stories with a basement beneath the street. The project consisted of undoing previous work, uncovering Neutra’s intentions and bringing the interior to a logical fulfillment.   Windows added during a previous renovation were removed and the plaster ceiling and walls were restored.  Bookcases were removed, a new kitchen was installed, finishes were refurbished and added and the lighting was redesigned.
